Recap: Little Rock, AR

We quite literally just parked ourselves in an Airbnb for the weekend as a rest stop between Dallas, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee. The house we selected to stay in was super unique and stylish and situated next to a beautiful park where parts of the movie “Gone With the Wind” had been filmed. The host of the home, Cheyenne, also used to run a radio show years ago, so she was invested in us having a positive local experience, even though she now lives in Okinawa, Japan.

When we arrived, I was nervous because the driveway had a steep incline and I was worried about the trailer. It made me anxious getting it into the parking spot in the first place, but I was able to do it. However, I told Shereese, “we’re not moving that thing until it’s time to leave, so get comfortable.” Thankfully, the place was equipped with a massage chair and subscriptions to Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Once we settled in, we really settled in.

This stop served as a mental health break for both Shereese and me to rest and recuperate from the last two weeks of being on the road. I probably clocked at least three hours in that massage chair and Shereese caught up on her favorite crime documentaries. We both went for several walks in the adjacent park, took advantage of the fitness trail, and were wowed by the number of birds in the area with baby ducks and goslings in tow.

However, as I expected, we ran into trouble upon our departure. The incline of the driveway and the way the trailer turned as I reversed down the hill was the perfect recipe for us to get super stuck. For a minute, I thought we could power through, but to get out without doing too much damage, we would need the support of AAA. And that’s where Paul came in.

Paul had the right tools and equipment to not only get us unstuck, but he also escorted me to the local Tractor Supply Co. to purchase the replacement part for the trailer that I had bent beyond repair. And then - to top it off, he even installed the part for me at no extra charge.

We gained some new podcast followers just from getting ourselves into trouble and then finding a way to get out of it.
