Dr. Natasha Ramontal is a Digital Health Strategist – Community Outcomes, North America at HIMSS. As a registered nurse with experience from the frontlines to executive leadership, Dr. Natasha Ramontal has successfully managed projects and products specializing in increasing access to healthcare via technology. Dr. Ramontal has navigated through a number of nursing and clinical roles such as case manager, telephonic nurse at a large insurance company, home health nurse, and as a nursing professor. Dr. Ramontal has also worked as a clinical content director at Caravan Health, a population health consulting firm where she was responsible for creating clinical workflows, training providers and their healthcare teams on the goals of the Accountable Care Organizations (ACOS), which is achieving the “quadruple aim.” Dr. Ramontal created the population health nurse course at Caravan Health. The course introduced population health and navigating through the value-based care system for population health nurses. Dr. Ramontal is also a Certified Health Coach who has worked to improve health outcomes by training physicians, their staff, and hospital staff on optimization to improve quality and community health outcomes utilizing a population health strategy. Her doctoral work focused on mobile health and the use of cell phones as a mechanism for accessing quality health care in Low- and Middle-Income countries. Most recently Dr. Ramontal was the Clinical Systems Manager at the largest anesthesia provider group in the U.S., North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) where she was responsible for the implementation of all clinical IT products for over 10,000 anesthesia providers at over 600 hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physician offices. Recently she was nominated by the NAPA Chief Information Officer for the Women in Technology Summit 2020 in recognition of her leadership and contributions to information technology as a tool to increase access to healthcare. Prior to healthcare, Dr. Ramontal spent over 10 years managing global projects for governments, multi-lateral agencies, NGOs and the private sector. She has successfully managed complex humanitarian assistance programs aimed at improving social and economic conditions in the U.S., the Caribbean, Central America, Africa, and Eurasia. Dr. Natasha Ramontal speaks English, Jamaican Patois, and Elementary Russian.
